Heavy Metals in Soil
Accomplishments/Benefits :
|
RSI was responsible for the excavation, stabilization, transportation, and disposal of approximately 8,300 cubic yards of highly contaminated lead soil. Prior to treatment contaminated soils had TCLP values greater than 1,300 mg/l. This property was a former battery breaking site located near downtown St. Paul. Contaminated soils were treated to meet current land disposal restrictions of < 5mg/l and disposed of at a local Subtitle D landfill. This site was very unique in the fact that there was a limited amount of working space. Waste Stabilization/Removal
RSI was responsible for the excavation, stabilization, and placement of approximately 30,000 cubic yards of cadmium contaminated soil located at this site. This project was one of the first treatment projects within the state of New York where the treated soils were allowed to be placed into the original excavation. Excavation activities involved removing soils adjacent to a natural gas pipeline, wastewater treatment plant lines, and the plants underground electrical service lines. | |
