RSI was responsible for the excavation and placement of nonhazardous lead contaminated soil waste materials at a former manufacturing facility. These contaminated soils were accumulated and placed in a centralized area then covered with approximately 225,000 ft 2 of geo-synthic clay liner, two feet of imported select fill, colored warning barrier and an additional three feet of select fill material. In selected areas underground power and sewer utilities corridors were placed in designated trenches. Once the cap and utility construction activities were completed a public park was installed with a soccer field, volleyball, lighted tennis and basketball courts. This remediation was one of the first “Brownfield” sites remediated for ESC. The former owners were relived from all future environmental liabilities at this site. The residents of Marysville, OH received a new public park.
