RSI was responsible for the decommissioning of Maytag's Auto-chrome line during normal plant operations. RSI had to create a protective working envelope to protect Maytag's plant employees from decontamination activities. This manufacturing line consisted of several process tanks, material handling conveyor lines, and air handling and ventilation systems. Equipment and ducting decontamination and removal activities took place on three floors of the plant. Many of the process fluids were re-containerized and shipped back to the chemical manufacturer for recycling. Scrap metal was decontaminated and recycled.
